Access statement for Lakeside Apartments – October 2011

We welcome able bodied and disable customers and although not specially adapted, for disability usage we do have two ground floor apartments, which may be more suitable.

Car parking (limited) is available on a first come basis right outside the apartments, also Outside on the quite road. Level asphalt out the front will bring you directly to the main Entrance.

As you arrive at the front door there are two stone stairs up to the front door, each approx 18 inches High, as in normal Georgian houses. The front door is a modern white double glazed PVC and you will find a 5 inch thresh hold to step over. To the left hand side you will find a good sturdy handrail to help you if you require it. This will bring you into the Entrance hallway. You then have one more step of approx 5 inches high to get you into the main down stairs hallway. Please note we do have portable ramps (very light) that can be put into place very easy and quickly allowing you to gain wheelchair or mobility chair access.

We have two ground floor flats although not specially adapted for wheel chair users or disabled persons; we have had many guests with the prior who use these apartments regularly. One of which has grab rails in the bathroom.

EMERGENCY INFORMATION: Each suite has an Emergency information sheet in the folder ~ should there be an emergency or a doctor be required, but, please also let us know, there is usually someone around 9 -5 Mon to Fri but other times please telephone us on the numbers given you.

Fire: - SMOKE DETECTORS - HEAT DETECTORS AND FIRE ALARMS with emergency lighting in all apartments. Please not the Fire Alarm is very very loud.

MOBILE PHONES: Mobile phone reception on the property is very good for most networks

SHOWER: The suites are all have a walk in shower

All the kitchens are fully equipped including electric full size cookers - cordless kettles – full size larder fridge and microwaves.

REMOTE CONTROL Digital T.V.’S with DVD players. All apartments have WIFI access free.

Beds in all of the apts have non-feather pillows & duvets, with Egyptian cotton or poly cotton duvet covers, sheets & pillowcases. - Power points and light switches at sensible heights.

Deaf or Hard of Hearing? All televisions in the apts teletext. A Hearing dog for the hearing impaired is most welcome

Partially Sighted or Blind? A Guide dogs or Assistance dogs are always welcome.

Smokers? From April 2008 all the apts have been “No Smoking". You are most welcome to smoke outside the building.
